…and she thought this was the way she always wanted her life to be, balanced, uncluttered, simple yet elegant, quiet, and…well, just perfect, yes, perfect in every detail, that’s what she had always wanted, yes.  And did she have that life now?  And as she looked out the window she had just opened, she paused and stood still for a moment to look out to the street and all the life upon it.  She did not do this often, as most times when she entered the room, she enjoyed the soft colored light from the stained-glass window, a light, the sunlight from the morning, day, and evening, all the hours suffused with a gentle light, a blessed light it seemed, for the transformed sunlight touched everything in the room, within her mind and soul even, like a peaceful, gentle prayer, not like the bolder colors of the windows of the cathedral that she loved also, but more like the gentle soft breathing of her precious little daughter as she slept.  She paused there also, at the door, taking in and praising her Savior for the life and joy of her daughter, for the joyful, blessed sound of her quiet breathing, the same joy of the singing of the birds in the morning, but not as intimate and gracious as her child’s breath, for that breath was also hers, the sound of her own soul breathing within her daughter.  She decided to keep the window open, for at least a few  hours, as the sounds from the street below were also a blessing, she was sure, even though at that moment she was not sure how…
