Third Daughter – 05/17/21

…and again, Lavita Lamour emerges, and again at night, shedding the intelligent, yes, but mild and unassuming and unimpressive daytime role as near-head accountant for a medium-size, fairly-respected, stable and boring accounting firm, once more she goes out into the night. Lavita Lamour, not an alter ego, but whom she is at heart, not a role, but a life, pauses before silently passing into the darkness, as she investigates, and spies and moves as a shadow when necessary to…protect, yes, to right wrongs, and to perhaps, a little more tricky and carefully planned, to bring all buckets of sleaze, putrid souls, and falsely smiling of heart and crafty of mind, all essentially stupid – bring them to justice, or at least open the back door so that others – those more important and “higher up” than her – may perchance see and do more than just think of justice.  And so off she goes into the night to see for herself the plight of the Sisters of Perpetual Help, those who taught her at Blessed Savior as a young girl, and, well, not completely understanding or embracing their faith, the simple beauty of it she did see, appreciating their goodness…  And off she stealthy treads, for her good friend from Blessed Savior, Judy Jean, now Sister Eugenia Grace, has shared her prayers with her, and she moves out into the shadows and gloom to find where all the money goes…
